This endpoint takes the necessary data required in ISOXML pain.001.001.03 format to initiate a payment through CitiConnect API. It can be used to initiate one outgoing payment request per API call. Each payment method take different input values based on the type of payment. Input values are also based on regulatory or local requirements. **Note:** The required parameters vary depending on the countries and currencies used in the request. For detailed and up-to-date information on the necessary fields and formats, see the Citi Payment Formatting Rules Tool. The Payment Initiation service accommodates all different data attributes for all the available payment methods. * **payloadType:** Supports urn:iso:std:iso:20022:tech:xsd:pain.001.001.03. * **Request:** The request follows ISO XML V3 (pain.001.001.03) standards. * **paymentBase64:** ISO XML V3 (pain.001.001.03) file has to be converted to Base64 format and passed in \\ tags. * **Response:** The response follows ISO XML (pain.002.001.03) standards. The Token URL includes the version of authentication used by this API. See the Citi Authentication API reference for information on requesting a token. ## Servers - `https://b2b.tts.icgservices.citi.com/citiconnect/prod/paymentservices/v3` (production gateway URL, default) - `https://cte.b2b.tts.icgservices.citi.com/citiconnect/sb/paymentservices/v3` (sandbox URL) ## Request ### Query parameters - `client_id` (string, required) — This is your unique identifier shared during your CitiConnect API onboarding. This is the same `client_id` used for oauth token generation ### Headers - `Authorization` (string, required) — The OAuth Token prefixed with "Bearer" and space in between. - `payloadType` (string, required) — Supports "urn:iso:std:iso:20022:tech:xsd:pain.001.001.03" format ### Body (application/xml) This endpoint expects a DocumentReq. - `CstmrCdtTrfInitn` (CustomerCreditTransferInitiationV03, required) — The `CustomerCreditTransferInitiation` message is sent by the initiating party to the forwarding agent or debtor agent. This message is used to request movement of funds from the debtor account to a creditor. ## Response ### 200 OK - your request was received and acknowledged successfully. This message is used to request movement of funds from the debtor account to a creditor. - `GrpHdr` (GroupHeader32, required) — Group header details. Set of characteristics shared by all individual transactions included in the message. - `PmtInf` (list of PaymentInstructionInformation3, required) — Set of characteristics that apply to the debit side of the payment transactions included in the credit transfer initiation. ### GroupHeader32 Group header details. Set of characteristics shared by all individual transactions included in the message. - `CreDtTm` (datetime, required) — Date and time at which the message was created. - `InitgPty` (PartyIdentification32, required) — Party that initiates the payment. This can either be the debtor or the party that initiates the credit transfer on behalf of the debtor. - `MsgId` (string, required) — Message id. Point to point reference, as assigned by the instructing party, and sent to the next party in the chain to identify the message. - `NbOfTxs` (string, required) — Number of individual transactions contained in the message. \n - For Pay2China, this field must be populated as 1. - `CtrlSum` (string, optional) — Total of all individual amounts included in the message, irrespective of currencies. The number of fractional digits should not be more than 17. \n - For Pay2China, This field is used to validate the total amount of all transactions. If the amount is larger than 15 digits, then only the last 15 digits are validated. - `FwdgAgt` (BranchAndFinancialInstitutionIdentification4, optional) — Financial institution that receives the instruction from the initiating party and forwards it to the next agent in the payment chain for execution. - `Authstn` (list of Authorisation1Choice, optional) — User identification or any user key to be used to check whether the initiating party is allowed to initiate transactions from the account specified in the message. ### PaymentInstructionInformation3 - `CdtTrfTxInf` (list of CreditTransferTransactionInformation10, required) — Set of elements used to provide information on the individual transaction(s) included in the message. - `Dbtr` (PartyIdentification32, required) — Party that owes an amount of money to the (ultimate) creditor. - `DbtrAcct` (CashAccount16, required) — Identification of the account of the debtor to which a debit entry will be made as a result of the transaction. - `DbtrAgt` (BranchAndFinancialInstitutionIdentification4, required) — Financial institution servicing an account for the debtor. - `PmtInfId` (string, required) — Unique identification, as assigned by a sending party, to identify the payment information group within the message. - `PmtMtd` (enum, required) — Specifies the means of payment that will be used to move the amount of money. CHK : Written order to a bank to pay a certain amount of money from one person to another person. TRF : Transfer of an amount of money in the books of the account servicer. TRA : Transfer of an amount of money in the books of the account servicer. An advice should be sent back to the account owner. \n - For Pay2China, this field must be populated as 'TRF'. - Allowed values: `CHK`, `TRF`, `TRA` - `ReqdExctnDt` (date, required) — Date at which the initiating party requests the clearing agent to process the payment. \n - For Pay2China, this field may be current or forward date only, limited to 14 days in advance. - `BtchBookg` (boolean, optional) — Identifies whether a single entry per individual transaction or a batch entry for the sum of the amounts of all transactions within the group of a message is requested. - `ChrgBr` (enum, optional) — Specifies which party/parties will bear the charges associated with the processing of the payment transaction. DEBT : All transaction charges are to be borne by the debtor. CRED : All transaction charges are to be borne by the creditor. SHAR : In a credit transfer context, means that transaction charges on the sender side are to be borne by the debtor, transaction charges on the receiver side are to be borne by the creditor. In a direct debit context, means that transaction charges on the sender side are to be borne by the creditor, transaction charges on the receiver side are to be borne by the debtor. SLEV : Charges are to be applied following the rules agreed in the service level and/or scheme. - Allowed values: `DEBT`, `CRED`, `SHAR`, `SLEV` - `ChrgsAcct` (CashAccount16, optional) — Account used to process charges associated with a transaction. - `ChrgsAcctAgt` (BranchAndFinancialInstitutionIdentification4, optional) — Agent that services a charges account. - `CtrlSum` (string, optional) — Total of all individual amounts included in the group, irrespective of currencies. The number of fractional digits should not be more than 17. - `DbtrAgtAcct` (CashAccount16, optional) — Identification of the account of the debtor agent at its servicing agent in the payment chain. - `NbOfTxs` (string, optional) — Number of individual transactions contained in the paymnet information group. - `PmtTpInf` (PaymentTypeInformation19, optional) — Set of elements used to further specify the type of transaction. - `PoolgAdjstmntDt` (date, optional) — Date used for the correction of the value date of a cash pool movement that has been posted with a different value date. - `UltmtDbtr` (PartyIdentification32, optional) — Ultimate party that owes an amount of money to the (ultimate) creditor. ### PartyIdentification32 - `Nm` (string, optional) — Name by which a party is known and which is usually used to identify that party. \n - For Pay2China, 'Ordering Party Name' this field must be populated as 'NA'. For 'Creditor Name' this field must accept up to 128 English or 42 Chinese characters. - `PstlAdr` (PostalAddress6, optional) — Information that locates and identifies a specific address, as defined by postal services. - `Id` (PartyIdentification32Id, optional) — Unique identification of a party. Should pass either OrgId or PrvtId for organization and private respectively. - `CtryOfRes` (string, optional) — Country in which a person resides (the place of a person's home). In the case of a company, it is the country from which the affairs of that company are directed. - `CtctDtls` (ContactDetails2, optional) — Set of elements used to indicate how to contact the party. ### BranchAndFinancialInstitutionIdentification4 - `FinInstnId` (FinancialInstitutionIdentification7, required) — Unique identification of a financial institution, as assigned under an internationally recognized or proprietary identification scheme. - `BrnchId` (BranchData2, optional) — Identifies a specific branch of a financial institution. ### Authorisation1Choice - `Cd` (enum, required) — Specifies the authorization, in a coded form.AUTH: Indicates a file has been pre authorized or approved within the originating customer environment and no further approval is required. FDET: Indicates that a file requires additional file level approval, with the ability to view both the payment information block and supporting customer credit transaction detail. FSUM: Indicates that a file requires additional file level approval, with the ability to view only the payment information block level information. ILEV: Indicates that a file requires all customer transactions to be authorized or approved. - Allowed values: `AUTH`, `FDET`, `FSUM`, `ILEV` - `Prtry` (string, required) — Specifies the authorisation, in a free text form. ### CreditTransferTransactionInformation10 - `Amt` (AmountType3Choice, required) — Amount of money to be moved between the debtor and creditor, before deduction of charges, expressed in the currency as ordered by the initiating party. Either `EqvtAmt` or `InstdAmt` parameter value should be passed on request. - `PmtId` (PaymentIdentification1, required) — Set of elements used to reference a payment instruction. - `ChrgBr` (enum, optional) — Specifies which party/parties will bear the charges associated with the processing of the payment transaction. Either `IBAN` or `Othr` parameter should be passed in the request. - `Ccy` (string, optional) — Identification of the currency in which the account is held. - `Nm` (string, optional) — Name of the account, as assigned by the account servicing institution, in agreement with the account owner in order to provide an additional means of identification of the account. - `Tp` (CashAccountType2, optional) — Specifies the nature, or use of the account. Either Code or Proprietary parameter value should be passed on request. ### PaymentTypeInformation19 Set of elements used to further specify the type of transaction. - `CtgyPurp` (CategoryPurpose1Choice, optional) — Specifies the high level purpose of the instruction based on a set of pre-defined categories. Either Code or Proprietary parameter value should be passed in request. - `InstrPrty` (enum, optional) — Indicator of the urgency or order of importance that the instructing party would like the instructed party to apply to the processing of the instruction.HIGH : Priority level is high. NORM : Priority level is normal. - Allowed values: `HIGH`, `NORM` - `LclInstrm` (LocalInstrument2Choice, optional) — User community specific instrument. Either Code or Proprietary parameter value should be passed in request. - `SvcLvl` (ServiceLevel8Choice, optional) — Agreement under which or rules under which the transaction should be processed. Either code or proprietary parameter values should be sent in request. ### PostalAddress6 Information that locates and identifies a specific address, as defined by postal services. - `AdrLine` (list of string, optional) — Information that locates and identifies a specific address, as defined by postal services, presented in free format text. - `AdrTp` (enum, optional) — Identifies the nature of the postal address.ADDR : Address is the complete postal address. PBOX : Address is a postal office (PO) box. HOME : Address is the home address. BIZZ : Address is the business address.MLTO : Address is the address to which mail is sent.DLVY : Address is the address to which delivery is to take place. - Allowed values: `ADDR`, `PBOX`, `HOME`, `BIZZ`, `MLTO`, `DLVY` - `BldgNb` (string, optional) — Number that identifies the position of a building on a street. - `Ctry` (string, optional) — Nation with its own government. Either `EqvtAmt` or `InstdAmt` parameter value should be passed on request. - `EqvtAmt` (EquivalentAmount2, optional) — Amount of money to be moved between the debtor and creditor, expressed in the currency of the debtor's account, and the currency in which the amount is to be moved. - `InstdAmt` (ActiveOrHistoricCurrencyAndAmount, optional) — Amount of money to be moved between the debtor and creditor, before deduction of charges, expressed in the currency as ordered by the initiating party. \n - For Pay2China, Format is 'x.xx' and to be provided with currency attribute. ### PaymentIdentification1 Set of elements used to reference a payment instruction. - `EndToEndId` (string, required) — Unique identification assigned by the initiating party to identify the transaction. This identification is passed on, unchanged, throughout the entire end-to-end chain. \n - For Pay2China, this field must be populated with any characters in UPPERCASE. - `InstrId` (string, optional) — Unique identification as assigned by an instructing party for an instructed party to identify the instruction. ### Cheque6 Set of elements needed to issue a cheque. - `ChqFr` (NameAndAddress10, optional) — Identifies the party that ordered the issuance of the cheque. - `ChqMtrtyDt` (date, optional) — Date when the draft becomes payable and the debtor's account is debited. - `ChqNb` (string, optional) — Unique identifier for a cheque as assigned by the agent. - `ChqTp` (enum, optional) — Specifies the type of cheque to be issued. CCHQ : Cheque drawn on the account of the debtor, and debited on the debtor's account when the cheque is cashed. Synonym is 'corporate cheque'. CCCH : Cheque drawn on the account of the debtor, and debited on the debtor's account when the cheque is cashed. The financial institution prints and certifies the cheque, guaranteeing the payment. BCHQ : Cheque drawn on the account of the debtor's financial institution, which is debited on the debtor's account when the cheque is issued.These cheques are printed by the debtor's financial institution and payment is guaranteed by the financial institution. Synonym is 'cashier's cheque'. DRFT : A guaranteed bank cheque with a future value date (do not pay before], which in commercial terms is a 'negotiatable instrument': the beneficiary can receive early payment from any bank under subtraction of a discount. The ordering customer's account is debited on value date. ELDR : An instrument with a future value date (do not pay before], which in commercial terms is a 'negotiatable instrument': the beneficiary can receive early payment from any bank under subtraction of a discount. The ordering customer's account is debited on value date. - Allowed values: `CCHQ`, `CCCH`, `BCHQ`, `DRFT`, `ELDR` - `DlvrTo` (NameAndAddress10, optional) — Party to whom the debtor's agent needs to send the cheque. - `DlvryMtd` (ChequeDeliveryMethod1Choice, optional) — Specifies the delivery method of the cheque by the debtor's agent. - `FrmsCd` (string, optional) — Identifies, in a coded form, the cheque layout, company logo and digitized signature to be used to print the cheque, as agreed between the initiating party and the debtor's agent. - `InstrPrty` (enum, optional) — Urgency or order of importance that the originator would like the recipient of the payment instruction to apply to the processing of the payment instruction.HIGH : Priority level is high. NORM : Priority level is normal. - Allowed values: `HIGH`, `NORM` - `MemoFld` (list of string, optional) — Information that needs to be printed on a cheque, used by the payer to add miscellaneous information. - `PrtLctn` (string, optional) — Specifies the print location of the cheque. - `RgnlClrZone` (string, optional) — Regional area in which the cheque can be cleared, when a country has no nation-wide cheque clearing organization. ### ExchangeRateInformation1 Set of elements used to provide details on the currency exchange rate and contract. - `CtrctId` (string, optional) — Unique reference to the foreign exchange contract agreed between the initiating party/creditor and the debtor agent. \n - For Pay2China, this field is optional and can be populated with FX Contract ID. - `XchgRate` (string, optional) — The factor used for conversion of an amount from one currency to another. This reflects the price at which one currency was bought with another currency. - `RateTp` (enum, optional) — Specifies the type used to complete the currency exchange. SPOT : Exchange rate applied is the spot rate. SALE : Exchange rate applied is the market rate at the time of the sale. AGRD : Exchange rate applied is the rate agreed between the parties. - Allowed values: `SPOT`, `SALE`, `AGRD` ### InstructionForCreditorAgent1 - `Cd` (enum, optional) — Coded information related to the processing of the payment instruction, provided by the initiating party, and intended for the creditor's agent.CHQB: (Ultimate) creditor must be paid by cheque. HOLD: Amount of money must be held for the (ultimate) creditor, who will call. Pay on identification. PHOB: Please advise/contact (ultimate) creditor/claimant by phone. TELB: Please advise/contact (ultimate) creditor/claimant by the most efficient means of telecommunication. - Allowed values: `CHQB`, `HOLD`, `PHOB`, `TELB` - `InstrInf` (string, optional) — Further information complementing the coded instruction or instruction to the creditor's agent that is bilaterally agreed or specific to a user community. ### Purpose2Choice Underlying reason for the payment transaction. DEBT : Regulatory information applies to the debit side. BOTH : Regulatory information applies to both credit and debit sides. - Allowed values: `CRED`, `DEBT`, `BOTH` - `Dtls` (list of StructuredRegulatoryReporting3, optional) — Set of elements used to provide details on the regulatory reporting information. ### RemittanceLocation2 - `RmtId` (string, optional) — Unique identification, as assigned by the initiating party, to identify the remittance information sent separately from the payment instruction, such as a remittance advice. - `RmtLctnElctrncAdr` (string, optional) — Electronic address to which an agent is to send the remittance information. - `RmtLctnMtd` (enum, optional) — Method used to deliver the remittance advice information.FAXI : Remittance advice information must be faxed. EDIC : Remittance advice information must be sent through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). URID : Remittance advice information needs to be sent to a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).
